Male and female six-spined leatherjackts differ in appearance,
and there may be considerable colour variation within the sexes,
depending where along the coast they are living. Males are more
brightly coloured, with wavy blue lines around the head and
yellow upper and lower fins. They have six spines at the start
of their tails which are less pronounced in females. Like all
leatherjackets they have tough, leathery skins and a long spine
over the eye. They are found along the south coast WA to NSW
and around Tasmania. ¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨ |
