Reef Watch Victoria

The Dusky Morwong is longer and more slender than its other relatives. It is found most often around seagrass meadows, typically seen as a face peering out of seagrass or seaweed cover and will shoot out of weed very fast. Colour varies from silvery to greenish-grey, with sides having a bronzy tinge. Grows to 1.2m.

Range: Lancelin in WA to Port Phillip Bay in Vic.

Tentative sightings occur when the Reef Watcher is not 100% confident of the identification, or where the sighting is outside the previously known distribution of the species. It would be great to confirm these sightings with a photograph or further observations.
